The United Kingdom, especially its capital, London, has become a hub for adopting cutting-edge entertainment technology. London is well-acquainted with new VR entertainment venues, and the latest to join the scene is the Sandbox VR chain.
The company opened its first franchised store in London, with four free-roam arenas that host up to six players simultaneously. The backpack PC setup tracks players’ hands and legs, offering a range of VR games, including the latest “Deadwood Valley,” a zombie blaster.
Divr Labs Unveils its Third Immersive Destination
The Sandbox VR venue in London is the first to offer a hospitality component, with a cutting-edge bar-tending robot named “Toni” serving cocktails. The space is designed for group bookings and offers a unique experience. Sandbox VR currently operates around 30 venues worldwide and continues to expand its VR brand. Recently, a new free-roaming VR experience called Divr Labs opened in London with their VR arena. The developer brought their VR adventure platform to the Westfield mall, simultaneously providing a unique experience for groups of up to four adventurers. The arena offers multiple special adventures, including “Meet the Dinosaurs.” Meet the Dinosaurs is a time-traveling journey that takes guests 80 million years into the past to meet Pteranodons.
The third location developed by the company features a growing collection of experiences that blend physical and virtual elements. The company leverages cutting-edge technology, such as the new HTC Focus 3 headset, eliminating the need for backpacks and intricate tracking.

London has seen an influx of immersive experiences incorporating VR as an extra component or as part of the main event. For example, the Van Gogh Exhibit in London. The Immersive Experience features a VR experience. This allows guests to walk in the artist’s footsteps and explore the journey behind his iconic paintings.
