Experiencing the Lunar New Year in an Epic Adventure with The Sandbox

The Sandbox is excited to announce a series of Lunar New Year experiences in partnership with brands and creators from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Taiwan.

The event will run for a period of six weeks. Having started on January 18, 2023 and ending on February 28, 2023. 

Players will have access to 12 different expeditions, each with its own set of rewards.

These rewards include a pool of 200,000 $SAND tokens, collectible items and mystery boxes containing PFPs. They also include premium LAND tokens and unique in-game NFT rewards.

Renowned creators and brands such as Softstar, Alpacadabraz, Sun Hung Kai & Co., MTR, McDull, PCCW, Chili Game and The CGame have come together to create new and exciting experiences based on their famous IPs.

How it’s all planned out

One of the highlights of the event is MetaChinatown, where participants will exchange wishes and meet community collaborators and creators.

Another is the Trip to Chord Hero Music Gallery, where participants can discover innovative music projects exhibited by charities and students.

The Sandbox has also partnered with the famous Chinese zodiac animals to bring even more excitement to the event. Participants will have the chance to collect and own the 12 zodiac animals as exclusive NFTs. 

Each animal represents a different trait and personality. This makes them not just a collectible but also a fun way to learn more about Chinese culture and tradition.

Another exciting feature is the “Lunar New Year Quest,” where players can complete different tasks to earn rewards and collect special NFTs.

These tasks include visiting different LANDs, interacting with NPCs, and participating in ‘in-game’ events.

The Sandbox has also created a special LAND, called “Lunar New Year Celebration”. Here players can gather with friends and family to celebrate the holiday.

This LAND features traditional decorations, fireworks, and games for players to enjoy.

Other experiences include McDull LAND, where participants will have the chance to interact with McDull and his friends, and explore Hong Kong’s famous buildings and food diversity.

The MTR metaverse, also known as the world’s first transportation operator in The Sandbox, offers a trip across time between the 1980s’ Choi Hung Station and the cutting-edge Metaverse Railway Station.

The Sandbox encourages players to join in and make the most of the Lunar New Year event which promises to be a festive and thrilling experience with a wealth of opportunities for its participants.
