Oorbit, a metaverse platform dedicated to improving gaming across 3D virtual worlds, has teamed up with LG Electronics, a South Korean conglomerate, to introduce metaverse games to smart TVs.
With its Auxuman and PIXELYNX platforms, Oorbit aims to bring users various virtual concert experiences and multiplayer gaming options. The platform also offers a consistent digital identity across experiences, enabling seamless management and transactions of digital assets.
What The Partnership Could Bring
The partnership aims to enable viewers to navigate interconnected virtual worlds, attend virtual concerts, and play AI multiplayer games through their LG TVs, thus facilitating consumer engagement in the metaverse.
The Oorbit team stated that the partnership with LG is timely as the metaverse is currently gaining widespread attention from various industries. This is exemplified by its prominent presence at CES 2023, a global technology event from January 5th to January 8th, 2023.
In a statement, Oorbit co-founder and CTO Pooya Koosha commented on the partnership, saying that the proprietary technology is the link between virtual worlds, making it simple for developers and brands to introduce their experiences into the metaverse. He added that scaling this technology for millions of LG TV customers is crucial in making the metaverse accessible to everyone.
Through the partnership, Oorbit’s users can access cloud streaming technology, enabling them to explore interconnected virtual worlds, attend virtual concerts, and play AI multiplayer games.
LG Electronics Previous Involvement In The Cryptocurrency Industry
In March 2022, LG Electronics updated its corporate development goals to include cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based applications.
Similarly, at its annual general meeting, LG introduced two specific objectives related to cryptocurrency: the sale and brokerage of Bitcoin and the development and sale of blockchain-based technologies. In September 2022, after a thorough beta testing program, LG Electronics announced the launch of a cryptocurrency wallet called Wallyto as part of its expansion into the cryptocurrency industry.
