Oculus made waves in 2020 by joining forces with the NBA to bring live basketball games straight to VR headsets, and now as part of Meta, the company has cemented its role as the official VR and marketing partner of the NBA, the G-League of NBA, and the WNBA women’s league. The partnership is only growing stronger as the deal expands to include even more thrilling features for fans. By tuning into Horizon Worlds, fans can watch 52 live games of the NBA season for free, with five available in a fully immersive, 180-degree monoscopic video hosted by some of the most respected sports broadcasters.

As the NBA and Meta partnership continues to evolve, fans can look forward to even more immersive VR experiences. Meta will include coverage of the G-League, 2K League, and WNBA. This is in addition to the 52 live NBA season games that will be available in 180-degree monoscopic video. To make the most of the wait between games, fans can take advantage of the Horizon Worlds’ new NBA Arena. The arena features exciting mini-games to keep fans entertained. If you’re looking to show your team spirit, Meta now offers exclusive NBA team apparel for avatars.

Die-hard fans also have the option to purchase the NBA League Pass, which features the playoffs and all available games. Fans can buy the Pass through the Meta Quest. Xtadium launched, allowing US consumers to experience live streams of many sports on Meta Quest 2. These include the All-American Cup tennis tournament, NASCAR races, UFC Fight Pass fights, and archived EuroLeague basketball games

Currently, Xtadium is only available in the United States. Still, the social VR platform may be coming to Europe soon, given the Meta VR headsets are now available in the country. Keep checking for updates on the Oculus blog for the latest information on the broadcast schedule of Horizon Worlds.
