shutterstock to launch AI image generator

Shutterstock, the world’s most extensive collection of royalty-free images, has taken a giant leap into AI by launching its text-to-image generator. Shutterstock announced a partnership with OpenAI to integrate DALL-E 2 into its creative resources in October and is now releasing a channel for generating images through AI.

Users can generate stock images from one word

This partnership will enable the generation of various accurate and licensed realistic images from text prompts. In addition, it is open to all Shutterstock subscribers worldwide and it features all languages. Subscribers have access to download ten free pictures from Shutterstock Generate. Shutterstock’s customers can now describe the image they want in the provided search bar.

“Our easy-to-use generative platform will transform how people tell their stories — you no longer have to be a design expert or have access to a creative team to create exceptional work.”

Paul Hennessy, Shutterstock CEO

The AI automatically leverages the Shutterstock library to create the visuals in seconds. It is also interesting to know that Shutterstock generates visuals from only one word. In other words, it helps users who are not good at descriptions of the text to get their desired images. Though Shutterstock watermarks the images, they are available for anyone to claim through licensing and download.

According to Shutterstock CEO Paul Hennessy, Shutterstock has fostered strategic partnerships with prominent industry players like Meta, Open AI, and LG AI Research in the last two years to reinforce their generative AI efforts.

Shutterstock AI Image Generate Features

Shutterstock AI Image Generate features amazing options that give its users maximum satisfaction. The options are filters, editing, creating, and connecting to other applications from Shutterstock Creative Flow. Interestingly, Shutterstock will compensate subscribers whose creative works are selected to be in the training database. However, Shutterstock will decide how to select the image creators, compensate them, and the royalties given to them.

Shutterstock, Inc. is the leading creative platform for companies and brands that strive to push the boundaries of innovation worldwide. It has a comprehensive collection that includes high-quality, licensed images, vectors, drawings, 3D models, movies, and music. It has more than 424 million photos and more than 27 million video clips on its platform.
