Warner Bro launching World's Biggest Demo Drop on The Sandbox Metaverse

Warner Music Group (WMG) is launching the World’s biggest global Demo Drop DJ contest in The Sandbox metaverse. Over the last two decades, the Demo Drop DJ contest has brought several DJs in the electronic music space to the limelight. The event presents 5 music producers/DJs with a great chance to launch their music careers on several platforms. This DJ contest will be particularly fascinating because it is on The Sandbox metaverse, one of Web 3’s biggest decentralized virtual platforms.

The World’s Biggest Demo Drop (WBDD) is subject to ‘Spinnin’ Records, a Dutch electronic music label associated with Warner Music Group. The virtual event started on January 26 and will run until February 8.

How to participate

Anyone who wishes to participate can join the event. The first requirement is to get a KYC-verified Sandbox account. Afterward, participants can join and engage in several quests. Participants who complete 80% of the quests can get a share of the 50,000 $SAND reward pool and 1 piece of memorabilia. In addition, anyone who has a WMG pass with 80% completion of the quests stands a chance to win from an additional 50,000 $SAND reward pool.

Rising DJ talents from several countries submit their best demos on Spinnin’ Records and vie to win “an official Spinnin’ Records or Music Freedom release.” More than 2,000 contestants have sent their best demos since the beginning of submissions.

Renowned electronic music producer & DJ Mike Williams, a musician and remixer, is the program’s ambassador. DJ Williams has been active in the electronic scene since 2008 and is on the Spinnin’ Records roster. In addition, the sensational DJ Tiesto is also an official jury member.

Warner Music and the Sandbox Metaverse

Warner Music has enjoyed a fruitful partnership with the Sandbox Metaverse. The duo initially collaborated in 2022 to create a music-themed world in the metaverse. The objective was to provide immersive experiences that foster interaction between artists and their fans. The music company also wanted to leverage Sandbox’s virtual community to increase its revenue capacity.

With the demo DJ contest, it doesn’t look like the collaboration between the two companies will stop anytime soon. Both companies are committed to partnering on more “innovative and exciting” community-engaging web3 initiatives
