Mighty Coconut has revealed that Walkabout Mini Golf will be available for PSVR 2. It has also announced a new DLC called Upside Town. With Upside Town, players navigate a virtual reality course with physically impossible features while hitting golf balls.
Upside Town
The new Upside Town DLC presents an experience that defies the laws of physics and gravity with its impossible architecture. It features landscapes that show similarity to M.C. Escher’s famous works. M.C.
Escher is widely known for works that play with perspective paradoxes and impossible figures. In this DLC, floors become walls, and trees grow sideways. You will also see abnormalities, such as cars parking on the ceiling. Amid all the abnormalities, there will be mini golf balls that players have to hit.
A representative from Mighty Coconut revealed that the course comes with an atmospheric downtown neighborhood that includes features such as businesses, apartments, transit ways, and cityscape elements. The rep further noted that players would experience these features uniquely and unexpectedly.
The Game Mechanism
Upside Town DLC offers 18 holes in both Easy and Hard modes. The game has 18 hidden golf balls, new designs, and avatar clothing and accessories. The inspiration for these designs comes from the unique upside-down town setting.
Each of the 18-hole courses is meticulously designed to recreate the classic mini-golf experience in a larger-than-life environment with interconnected holes. These holes encourage exploration, ball recovery, and creative trick shots using the surroundings.
Players can play solo, meet new people, and have a private game challenge with 8 friends. The game includes a guest pass. Players with paid DLC courses can have guests. These guests can play with their hosts for free. The DLC also includes a special feature called “Gravity Fields.”
Walkabout Mini Golf VR: DLC launches in March
The Upside Town will be available on Meta Quest 2 and SteamVR from March 9th. It should launch at an affordable price.
The price will reflect the developer’s commitment to delivering feature-rich and spectacular DLCs, by dedicating more time and resources to their development.
