Bloomberg has launched an AI tool that can perform financial risk assessment and other accounting operations

Bloomberg, a leading provider of financial data services, has unveiled its latest artificial intelligence (AI) tool that promises to transform the finance industry. The announcement came earlier this week when Bloomberg introduced the world to BloombergGPT. The AI system works like OpenAI’s ChatGPT to assist with written communications.

According to the company’s press release, the software exists to evaluate data using various Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques. BloombergGPT can create risk assessments, review financial beliefs, and automate accounting and auditing processes, among other tasks.
The press release went on to explain that the finance industry’s complex and unique vocabulary demands an AI system that can handle financial datasets. BloombergGPT has access to vast amounts of data on the Bloomberg Terminal. Investors and analysts use the Bloomberg Terminal to view market information, news bulletins, financial analysis, and other vital problem-solving tools.

BloombergGPT, the first LLM focused on the financial domain- Bloomberg’s Head of Technology

Shawn Edward, Bloomberg’s Head of Technology, explained that Large Language Models (LLMs) are essential to creating BloombergGPT. Bloomberg’s developers used 363 billion tokens from English financial papers on the organization’s existing data discovery, display, and assistance tools. The developers also used classification techniques to build a top-notch, competitive AI system with other financial data analysis tools.

For all the reasons generative LLMs are attractive-few-shot learning, text generation, conversational system, etc.-we see tremendous value in having developed the first LLM focused on the financial domain

The project resulted in a new 50-billion framework encrypted AI tool that is the most advanced in the finance industry. Gideon Mann, Team lead of Bloomberg’s ML Product and Research, explained that the success of NLP models and machine learning depends on the data inputted into them.
Over the past 40 years, Bloomberg has curated a substantial and diverse dataset for teaching the LLM. The result is an AI tool that can easily handle financial data, making it the perfect option for financial data analysis.
With the launch of BloombergGPT, Bloomberg aims to revolutionize the finance industry by providing investors, analysts, and other financial professionals with an AI tool that can handle complex financial data quickly and efficiently.
