Popular toy manufacturer Mattel has released a mixed-reality game called Hot Wheels: Rift Rally. The game combines real remote-controlled(RC) cars with virtual surroundings and effects to give players a digital race track experience in the comfort of their own homes. Mattel collaborated with renowned video development organization, Velan Studio to create the game.
Hot Wheels: Rift Rally was launched on Tuesday. The game is now available on the Apple App Store, and Sony PlayStation 4 &5. Each purchase comes with a physical Chameleon RC car that can transform into more than 140 different vehicles, a dedicated charging cable, and four Rift Gates to create personalized courses. The game employs virtual overlays such as Mach Speeder, Bone Shaker, and Twin Mill.
The game has two primary modes of play: Campaign Mode and Stunt Mode. The Campaign Mode challenges players to complete various challenges on different maps and create their mixed-reality race tracks. The Stunt Mode allows users to perform tricks like wheelies, burnouts and drifts. Multiple players can play the game.
