Meta, The National Research Institute (NASK) and VR Heroes are working together to provide a series of free training workshops for teachers in Poland. The workshops are open to teachers of all levels of expertise. Additionally, they will learn how to use Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) appropriately to teach in the classroom. The purpose of this partnership is to shape the future of education in Poland as this initiative will promote innovative education.
The workshops will be anchored by experts at the Meta Community Hub in Warsaw. They would make use of special educational applications alongside Meta Quest 2 headsets. The focus of the workshops would be on the benefit of VR and AR in education.
According to Tomasz Dobosz, the co-founder of VR Heroes, instead of the traditional classrooms, students will learn in a simulated 3D environment. This will allow them to interact with and explore digital objects and the digital environment.
Promoting Creative and digital competencies
Mark Brzezinski, the US ambassador to Poland said that VR and AR will change the learning process and also increase the students’ cognitive engagement and processes.
“I look forward to following the progress of the Meta AR & VR for Education program in Poland. I am proud that Meta, a U.S. company, provides modern technological solutions and know-how to develop this innovative project.”

The workshops aim to educate the teachers about innovative technologies and also help them understand the need to integrate these technologies into the curriculum. The benefit of these technologies includes developing students’ digital competencies and creative skills.
Research has shown that AR and VR can improve the outcome of learning like student participation, comprehension, motivation and attention span. The Public Policy Director for Eastern and Central Europe at Meta, Jakub Turowski, also pointed out that VR and AR provide diverse exciting opportunities for education.
“Instead of telling students what life was like in ancient Rome, we can show it to them. We can take the class on a trip to the Louvre or to the Arctic Circle. And this is not science fiction; augmented reality offers such possibilities today.”
