New York City Hosts First AI Fashion Week

The Pioneer AI fashion week took place last week in New York. This exhibition exhibits digitally produced designs by up-and-coming tech designers who have produced collections of 15–30 pieces using well-known AI tools such as Midjourney. The runway presentations that displayed these virtual designs included “models,” and the designers had complete creative control over the production design. The immersive experiences included everything from classic catwalk settings with celebrity visitors and backstage commotion to fantasy landscapes with beaches and dinosaurs.

The show took place on April 20 and 21 at Spring Studios. The fashion show showed only a few fashion collections. The public could attend the ceremony on Friday, and online voting started on Thursday. A team of judges, including well-known makeup artist Pat McGrath, will choose the winner, who will be revealed in May. With assistance from the fashion/tech incubator, the winning designer can also sell tangible versions of their creations via Revolve Group and virtual work displays.

The AIFW Platform

The creator of the AI creative company Maison Meta, Cyril Foiret, claims that more than 400 individuals from all around the globe took part in the AIFW competition. Foiret finds it odd that the participants, who are all informed about cutting-edge AI software, are mostly female and vary in age from 18 to 65. Foiret thinks the AIFW platform will significantly influence the fashion industry and show the value of AI in fashion design. With assistance from the fashion/tech incubator, the winning designs will also be sold via the Revolve Group.

Civil Rights Attorney AI Art Creation Hobby

Fran, a 57-year-old New York-based civil rights attorney, has taken up AI art creation as a hobby. When AI art generators first became accessible last summer, she taught herself how to utilize them. Since then, she has honed her skills using tools like Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and Night Cafe. By posting pictures of her works on Instagram, Fran has amassed over 9,000 followers in the last eight months. She plans to continue working as an attorney, despite enjoying and finding AI art generating. Fran wishes to adopt a pseudonym and maintain her anonymity for professional reasons.
