We have witnessed a surge in AIs in the last couple of months. This stems from the emergence of platforms such as ChatGPT and Midjourney. Despite worries about its propensity to copy or steal, generative AI has made remarkable progress in creating text and pictures.
While some advocate for slowing down AI development, many believe it will continue to grow. Nonetheless, AI still struggles with generating certain types of images. Even while formerly unnatural-looking photographs now have more human-like flaws, there are still problems that must get worked out.
Midjourney’s AI Unrealistic Images
A recent Midjourney user’s effort to make a picture of a lady playing a game on a PS5 shows that video game controllers seem to be a barrier for AI systems. Although the resulting image showed a woman holding a game controller with an expression of excitement, the controller depicted in the image was not the normal PS$ controller or PS5 DualSense. Instead, it was a collection of strange and non-existent controllers.
Midjourney Controller
The Midjourney controllers appear to be bulky and unwieldy. This makes it challenging to use them for extended gaming sessions. These controllers position their buttons and sticks on the reverse side, facing away from the user towards the screen. The woman in the generated image seems to be holding the controllers without actually interacting with them in any way.
Midjourney and the Confusion of PS5 Controller Images
It’s unclear how Midjourney misinterpreted the prompt. Still, the program’s confusion may stem from the images of PS5 controllers available online. AI algorithms typically rely on data from the internet to generate text and images. Midjourney may have gotten confused by the fact that most standalone images of the PS5 DualSense show the front of the controller rather than the back. Moreover, the images made to depict the PS5 controller look like before the launch could have further complicated matters, resulting in a bizarre combination of real and fake controllers.
