The Shanghai Metaverse Pilot program is a city-wide project that aims to provide digital services in twenty urban locations. The Commission of Economy and Information of Shanghai Municipal unveiled the initiative to transform the metropolitan locations into “major metaverse application zones”
The city believes that using this technology will enable citizens to utilize the city’s IT services in various fields. The innovation will improve the operations of businesses, the educational sector, the entertainment industry, and so on.
The growing metaverse wave in Shanghai
Virtual reality and metaverse technology are rapidly growing in Shanghai. In July 2022, the city announced its intention to elevate itself to a world-famous metaverse cluster by 2025. The Shanghai city metaverse program is a strong way for the city to show its commitment to its initial plans.
The iconic Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai, a prominent destination for tourists, is launching an exciting new experience. Also, in Shanghai, “a metaverse diagnostic system” is now at the city’s Eye and ENT Hospital. This metaverse element enables doctors to leverage 3D remote diagnosis technology to provide better and more accurate healthcare.
