MIT Technology Review has teamed up with Siemens AG to delve into the emerging industrial metaverse, according to a recent announcement. A research report named “The Emergent Industrial Metaverse” will kickstart the partnership.
The report seeks to assist decision-makers in the technology sector by exploring the growth of the industrial metaverse. This will include its applications, opportunities, challenges, and impact on daily life. MIT Technology Review Insights conducted interviews with scholars, scientists, industry analysts, and technologists from all over the globe to gather best practices and techniques to help organizations navigate their way toward the industrial metaverse.
Annika Hauptvogel, Head of Strategy for Innovation and Technology Management at Siemens, emphasized that collaboration and openness must be integral to every digitalization strategy in the future. Organizations must assess the value of their industrial metaverse initiatives before exploring this emerging technology, according to Michael Grieves, Executive Director of Digital Twin Institute. Grieves added that organizations can gain a better understanding of the technology by working towards a specific goal, such as accelerating product development cycles and minimizing waste.
On March 30, MIT Technology Review hosted an online session with Michael Grieves and Peter Körte, Siemens’ Chief Strategy Officer, to share key insights on the industrial metaverse and what is shaping it. A physical event will hold on June 12, 2023, on the MIT campus to discuss the industrial metaverse and its impact further.
